Terms of Use

These Terms of Use apply when you visit or use South Valley Residents Directory. By continuing to use the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site or its linked services.

1. Private Reference Purpose

South Valley Residents Directory is privately run as a reference to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections relevant to South Valley, New Mexico. It does not host government records and is not connected with a government agency, court, library, or records custodian. A link or description of a public source does not make this site an official service of that source.

2. Permitted Use

Use the site and information reached through it only for lawful purposes. You may not use either to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm another person
  • Find or expose someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Engage in identity theft, fraud, or other unlawful conduct
  • Make an FCRA-regulated credit, employment, housing, insurance, or similar decision
  • Scrape, copy, or republish site material at scale
  • Disrupt the operation, availability, or security of the site

3. No Consumer Reports

South Valley Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. The site and any linked tool do not provide consumer reports. Information obtained here may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or any other purpose regulated by the FCRA.

4. External Services

Government portals, libraries, archives, sponsored tools, and other outside services operate under their own terms and privacy practices. We do not control their content, availability, charges, search results, or handling of information submitted to them.

5. Information Provided As Available

The site is offered on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that material is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for a particular use, and we do not promise that a linked portal will remain available or return a correct result.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the site operators are not responsible for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from use of this site, an outside resource, or a decision based on information obtained through either.

7. Your Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the site operators harmless from claims, demands, losses, and reasonable attorneys’ fees that arise from your misuse of the site or violation of these terms.

8. Site Intellectual Property

The site’s original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. You may link to a page and quote short passages with attribution. Republishing full pages or systematically copying site content is not permitted.

9. Updates to Terms

We may revise these terms by posting an updated version. Using the site after the revision is posted means you accept the revised terms.

10. Restricting Access

We may suspend, block, or limit access without notice when a user violates these terms, misuses information, or interferes with the site.

11. New Mexico Law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Mexico, without applying conflict-of-law rules. References to public-record access concern the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act, NMSA 1978, Chapter 14, Article 2, including §§ 14-2-1, 14-2-8, and 14-2-9. That law governs access to qualifying records held by public bodies; it does not require a custodian to create a new record or override records that another law makes confidential.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision of these terms unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
